Monster Factory

A card management type game that uses action points and strategy to create a game full of deceit, betrayal, and fun.  Featuring interesting mechanics like trading monster parts through the Trade "black market" Row and stealing from your fellow scientists. 

You look at the day, it is March 12, 1947, and then look around and realize you're in a deep dark mysterious underground facility somewhere. You look around and see other confused scientists stumbling in a round room. You are told by the guard holding you hostage that the people surrounding you are all competing to live. The first scientist to create monsters successfully gets to leave the scary facility, while the others turn into lab rats for testing!! Trade and steal from your fellow scientists to escape first! 

Feel free to look at the Rules before downloading to get a better sense of the play. The game features beautiful original illustrations by Amanda Rau and Nico Yuen-Morales. The cards were designed by UX designer Nikki Olsen and written by Rida Khan. 'Monster Factory' was created over the course of 4 weeks for Fundamentals of Game Design, taught by Professor Lien Tran at DePaul University.

• Original Colored Deck (Contains 49 standard poker size cards)
  • Each deck also contains Steal tokens (18)* and Discard Tiles (3) and Action Point reference cards (5)
    
• Low Ink version (can use black and white to use less ink as well)

*Note: Steal tokens are white squares but may also be substituted for household items if you don't want to use paper squares. Examples include plastic gems, dice, coins, paperclips, etc.

It is recommended to print on 8.5x11 cardstock but can also be printed on printer paper. If printing on printer paper recommended to use the low ink version and use card sleeves or index backing to make the cards more stable.
